What you will need?

To start making your cannabis oil, you must have the following

  • One ounce of high-quality medical cannabis or, you can also use 2 to 3 ounces of trim
  • Everclear alcohol
  • A rice cooker
  • 1 medium glass mixing bowl
  • Clean nylon stocking
  • Cooking thermometer
  • Sterile oral syringes
  • Parchment paper
  • 2-quart mixing cup or container

1) Preparing Workspace

For safety purposes, you must take a lot of care during this process, as making cannabis oil can be a bit tricky. Make your workspace very clean and clear because you will be dealing with highly flammable substances. Open the windows and turn on the fan. Have gloves and many hot pads in place as well.

2) Extract The Solvent

Contrary to making other recipes for cannabis oil, consider using high-proof alcohol to ensure that all the potential carcinogens are eliminated. The alcohol burns off fully after the process leaving you with pure cannabis oil. In this process, you will:

  • Put your cannabis in a glass
  • Add alcohol to the bowl
  • Use a wooden spoon to stir the mixture continuously for some minutes.

3) Strain The Mixture

With your 2-quart measuring cup, put a clean nylon stocking on it and pour the cannabis mixture on top. After that, put the extracted mixture into another cup.

The extracted dark green mixture is the cannabis resin. Prepare it for a second soak by taking the strained plant material and putting it in a mixing bowl. Repeat the straining process above until there is no more alcohol in the container.

4) Burn Off The Solvent

After extracting the alcohol, it is time to separate the cannabis resin from the solvent. Because you will be using heat, safety precautions are necessary. Fill your rice cooker with the canna-alcohol until it is 3 quarters full. Turn the cooker on, but leave the lid open. Heat your solvent under high temperatures giving it time to boil down. When the oil becomes thick and dark green, it is ready for the next step. Turn off the rice cooker and use a spatula to remove the cannabis oil from the pot.

5) Use Your Syringes

After cooling down, use a syringe to suck up the oil. If you wish, you can also use the syringes to fill empty pill capsules to create your cannabis pills. Once you’ve filled up your capsules or jar, your cannabis oil is ready to go!
